Ask Me Anything (OOC)

What do you prefer, being a fed head or being a member of a roster?
Member, definitely.  Too much grief that fedheads have to deal with, I’m not even sure how Olek does it.

You're part of rp feds and angle feds, do you prefer one over the other or is it a case of them fulfilling different wants from the game?
They do fulfill different things for me.  If I have a good story (and by story I mean CD, outside of the ring stuff, anything off camera) to tell then I love roleplay feds.  RP feds allow me to do that more-so than angle feds.  The good thing about angle feds, and mine in particular being GCW (cheap plug!) is that it allows you a little bit more freedom, a little more creative control.  Plus there are some angles that cannot be run in roleplay feds due in large part to certain things having to happen (i.e. one wrestler has to win a certain match or else the angle won’t work or won’t be as good, but anyone can potentially win in a roleplay fed).  Angle feds allow a little bit more leeway than roleplay feds where you are constrained to how the matches turn out, the roleplays.

Are there any of your lesser known characters that you want to push as active rp characters in the future?
I’m having a ton of fun with my newest creation Aubrianna Powers.  She’s currently active in GCW (the angle fed) and MCW (a RP fed but with a word count).  I also created a Dean Ambrose-eccentric style character named Alan Monroe who I am excited about.  Ultimately it depends upon how much of a story do I have to tell.  I’d love to be more active with Alan but I have no CD material for him yet.  But I do have CD material for Aubrianna thus she’s making more progress right now.

How much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?
42

Most loved character of yours?
Angelica Jones still has a special place in my heart as she is the one I’ve had the longest active.  Marie is a close second though.

Best character portrayal you've seen played out?
Omar’s portrayal of Kennedy Street.  I am a big Kennie fan! :-P

Favorite handler to rp against and why?
It’s hard to say because I haven’t really been facing any one person consistently lately but over the last several years one particular handler and I really did work some magical matches/feuds and that would be Omar.  The two different feuds between Marie and Skyy (one in IWC and one in UWA) and then Marie and Regan in SCW.

Favorite memory of fedding?
There are so many and this may sound like a cop-out but I’ll give a blanket answer by saying anything I’ve done with my buddy Sinner over the years.  He and I met in the original version of GCW in 2002 and then we continued fedding together throughout the time I ran GDW for 11 years and we’re still fedding together in the new angle fed version of GCW.  Sinner and I have done many great things together and have made many great memories.

Best lesson this game has ever taught you?
Don’t take things so seriously.

Why did you get into efedding?
Wrestling.  I was a huge wrestling fan and I always wanted to BE a wrestler but I knew I could never do it due to health reasons among other things.  I learned about the mail-in version of fedding but I didn’t want to do that.  Later I learned about the G-Feds (anyone remember those?).  The rest is history.

What was your first character and why after all these years you still do it?
The Wolf was his name and he would later evolve into “The Very Best”…….*big cheesy grin*……Steve Powers.  I know earlier I said Angelica was the longest active I had and that’s true.  Steve Powers took a VERY LONG layoff before I ever brought him back lol But Steve was my first.  I still do it because it’s addictive.  I love wrestling and I love telling their stories.  My characters still have stories to tell and I’m not done until those stories are told.

Who are some of your favorite handlers to work with?
Omar and I have had some great RP battles in the past.  Randy and Was and I have made great magic together as tag partners for various partners.  Of course my all time favorite to work with is Sinner.  Whenever we start brainstorming together it’s like Niagra Falls instead of a well.  Ideas start flowing wildly.

What was your favorite feud?
That feud leading into the four way at Invictus (Katelyn Beuhler vs. Taylor Chase vs. Abigail Lindsey vs. Marie Jones) was exceedingly fun.  Big credit to everyone involved as well as Dave for making it special.

If you could bring one character back whether your own or someone else who would it be?
Cuchulain.  No question about it.  He was in GDW with me and in MWA for a short while with me.  Cuchulain was not only one of the best writers I’ve ever seen but one of the single best comedy writers I’ve ever seen.  No matter how seriously you take your character, he could parody your character and you’d laugh your ass off at the way he made fun of him/her.  He was that good.  His best roleplay I read was a parody of Monty Python and the Holy Grail.  I wish I had saved it.

What are some of your favorite characters you have seen or even promoted.
Cuchulain, obviously.lol Sierra Devereaux was a fun one from MWA (kind of similar to Kennedy only she was a lot more foul mouthed than Kennedy plus she had a pet duck).  Heel Kennedy was fun.  Sophie James (#GingerNation!).

If you could do one thing different what will it be?
I never would have had GDW go on hiatus in 2012 or whenever it was.lol  No excuses, that was on me, but I did feel pressured into agreeing to the hiatus.  Looking back I truly don’t think a hiatus was necessary, that we could have kept going and had we kept going, GDW could have been around today.  Oh well.

What is the one thing you don’t see these days that you wish was still around?
Can I say GDW? Lol Seriously though, one thing that is “different” about today than back then is Twitter.  So I’ll turn the question around a little bit and say I wish we were back in a game with no twitter.  I don’t really think twitter has an overall positive effect on e-fedding.  There are some good things to it, granted, but I do think the overall effect of twitter is a negative one.

Finally.... Street or Chase?
Of course Street.  Kennedy to be precise.

Most of the characters you handle are female. Why do you think that is, and why do you think it's so popular for guys in the game to handle mostly or all female characters? We don't usually see the reverse, curious on your thoughts on that.
I can tell you why I started writing female characters.  GDW back in 2003, the first year of operation, was suffering a severe lack of female characters and we (the staff) were considering shutting down the women’s division.  I always enjoyed the idea of a women’s division and I didn’t want to see it go away.  So to give it some life support I created my first female character for the division.  Her name was Angelica Jones and I intended on her being temporary, just long enough until others could join and GDW didn’t need her anymore.  Obviously she did not stay that way.lol  I really enjoyed what I was writing, I felt I was doing good, so I kept going with Angelica.  As to why I’ve kept up with the female characters?   Well, Angelica and so many other characters I have were inspirations.  Angelica was inspired by a fictional character.  She has a sister Kayla and then I was inspired to create my second female character (Meagan Richards, eventually becoming Meagan Collins after getting married).  The inspiration behind her was initially the Paige character off of Charmed but Megs would take on a vastly different trajectory.lol Megs became evil incarnate.lol  Not sure if that answers the question but for the vast majority of my female characters over time with the exception of just a few were inspired by TV, movie, or literature.  I just felt to myself that their story could’ve been told different, possibly even better, so I put a different spin on it.  Some of them, like in Meagan’s case, took on a huge difference where there’s no similarity at all anymore.  Beyond that, I honestly don’t know why I continue to write female characters.  There was a time many years ago when I was not as wise to the sociology of gender in society that I would’ve said something along the lines of “oh, it’s just because women are more open with their emotions and that gives me more CD material”…but I don’t think that’s it.  Why don’t we see the reverse is another very good question.  Another one I don’t know the answer to and if I had to put something out there it’d be a pure guess.  What I can tell you is that I have seen many real females in my time in e-fedding who handled male characters.  There were at least four of them (at one time) in MWA.  Two or three in the early days of GDW.  So I’ve seen it frequently.  Maybe not recently but definitely frequently in my time.

Why the redhead obsession?
It was really a downhill spiral, the best way I can describe it.  I based Angelica Jones off of another fictional character who had red hair and I kept the red hair as part of my Angelica character.  When I decided to expand the family (daughters, etc) I just thought, well, there’s a good chance they’d probably be red heads too since Angelica is one.  Kayla Jones was not a redhead by MY choice, though.  Kayla was originally created by someone else who made her a redhead.  Her name was Shawna and we RPd together in the first GCW and a few years in GDW.  We ended up deciding to do a slight retcon of her character’s bio and make her Angelica’s sister.  It just so happened the picbase she had originally chosen was a redhead.  Shawna would eventually stop RPing but she allowed me and another mutual friend (Lassie) to have co-control of the character.  Now I have full control of the character.  So yeah, it’s more or less something that kind of just spiraled out of control lol

Which way did he go, George?
That way!

What is your favorite angle that has been played on shows?
Blood Grove was fun and very unique.  Big credit to the handlers involved in that one.

What is your favorite roleplay arc? (Whether its your own OR someone elses)
“Moving On From The Past” would have to be my favorite because I got to fill in some of the blanks about Kimberly Williams’s back story, I got to find a voice for Kimberly Williams, and I finally ended the long standing rivalry between Marie and Kimberly.  I accomplished a great deal right there.

What are peeves you have in this game?
Twitter is a big one.lol Another one that used to be a big problem but not so much anymore is people who take CD material that is clearly marked as off camera and use it in their promos.

What do you personally value in regards to character development?
The challenges to the character.  Perhaps that’s why sometimes I have a hard time coming up with character development ideas that I like and want to run with, because to me they seem rather easy for the character to deal with.  Too easy.  I want to challenge them in every aspect of their lives.  I’ve put Angelica through hell during the time I’ve written for her.  Not sure if that answers the question but I do prefer things that really and truly challenge the character in terms of its development.  In general I like character development because it does allow you to get into the head of the character, their personality, more so than an on camera promo does.

When is Marie going to be single? I'm asking for a friend.
Not for a while!

What's the one character/gimmick you've always wanted to try but didn't?
Now that is a tough question because I have done just about everything that I wanted to do at least once.  I can say that I never really got a chance to do a long term political character in the vein of JBL or a cult/super-religious character either, for that matter.  I have two characters that’d fit those molds (Ronald Duane Kennedy, aka: RDK, the political character; Cross, the super-religious one; Leviticus was a cult leader once, as well) but I never had much competitive success with them.  The ideas run dry fairly quickly.  There are certain things that I have done in angle feds that I just didn’t think would work out in the competitive environment of a roleplay fed for one reason or another.  Randy and I ran a fun gimmick where two of my characters were forced by virtue of losing a match to two of his characters to be his characters’s personal cheerleaders.  It ran its course and we stopped it.  Though I’m not sure it’d work out in the competitive environment of a roleplay fed, too many wild cards and x-factors to consider that we can’t control etc etc, so I never tried it.

Which is the proudest show you've ever written as a fedhead?
The GDW Reunion Show last year was awesome.  Not many matches, not many segments, but it achieved its goal.  GDW didn’t end on the proper note that I felt it deserved and this reunion show allowed me to give it the send-off that it truly deserved. Some may have felt it wasn’t necessary, some GDW alum may have even felt that I shouldn’t have done it.  I don’t care.  I was one of the two co-founders and I wanted to do it, and I had the blessing of the other co-founder to do it if I wanted.  GDW was my baby and while I would love to bring it back someday I realize that I will probably never again get back into fed heading.  So if GDW really is going to be gone for good, I thought I should at least give it the proper “funeral” so to speak.  Another one I’m very proud of would be the very first GCW Resurrection event back in 2012. I named it “Resurrection” because, well, this was the first GCW event in over ten years I’d say.lol  I was bringing it back, only as an angle fed.  It was an experiment, I had never had ANY experience in angle feds and truly wasn’t sure how it would turn out, but I had some help from randy and eventually G joined up, as well as JJ and others and we’re still putting out great shows to this day.  But it all goes back to that first event in 2012 when I brought it back.  Very proud of how that show turned out.

What was your biggest disappointment thus far?

How GDW came to an end.  I mentioned it earlier so I won’t go into much more detail other than to say had I been more vigilant then maybe I could’ve saved it.  But oh well.

I Will Win

Matthew Bowden walks onto the scene.  He turns and faces the camera.  Bowden is wearing a fez.

A horse comes walking into the scene standing next to him, being led by Helen Martin.

Bowden gets on the horse and begins riding around while the camera follows him.

Eventually Bowden brings the horse to a halt.  He hops off of the horse.  Helen hands him a block of blue cheese.  Bowden takes a bite of the cheese before tossing it aside.

Bowden nods his head…

“I will win.”

Matthew Bowden turns and walks away.  Helen sighs and shakes her head with disappointment as she follows him.

You Will Remember Me

==========
Off Camera
==========

It’s thundering and lightning outside in a New York City apartment.  An auburn haired beauty sits up in bed reading a copy of the Godfather by Mario Puzo.  The way this bedroom is halfway in tatters with clothes and other belongings scattered all over, and yet also halfway decently arranged and organized might tell you that this young lady does not have this bedroom all to herself.  And you would be correct in that assumption.  And looking at the way this young lady is dressed, in lovely, sexy black stockings, black skimpy lace panties, and a black lace bra, you would realize that whoever is going to come home to this pretty woman is going to be one lucky man.

This woman is none other than Helen Martin, the main squeeze of IWC superstar known as “The Show Stealer” Matthew Bowden.  Normally Helen is quite used to Matthew putting his own life and well being on the line for a cheap thrill.  She has gotten used to it and, in a weird, sick way, actually has found it to be an endearing quality about him.  Nothing he does surprises her anymore, especially not after his last Riot promo aired, the one that was shot while he was having sex with Helen herself.

Something about tonight is different.  Helen finds herself worrying about Matthew Bowden.  For the man who has spat in the face of authority figures, spat in the face of the most dangerous athletes to  ever grace a wrestling ring, all for the ratings, after having done all that and Helen never once batted an eye, yet now she does, it must be something pretty dangerous, something pretty deadly.

The look on her face tells the story of a woman who is extremely nervous and worried for her man.  Nothing can change that and, no matter how much she tries to take her mind off of it by reading this novel, she cannot hide her emotion.  The only thing that will truly help her is to see Matthew Bowden and, even then, that might not help…

“Honey, I’m home!”

The loud masculine voice comes from outside the bedroom door.  She hears a door slam and realizes it is the front door.  Helen immediately puts her book down on the nightstand.  She swings her legs over to the edge of the bed and then hops up off of the bed and stands there, waiting for the arrival of her man.  Footsteps coming down the hall tell her that he is on his way.  It isn’t long until the doorknob turns and then the door itself swings wide open.  Standing there in the doorway in nothing but red boxer shorts with a wide, cheesy grin etched across his face is Matthew Bowden.

“Did ya miss me?”

Helen doesn’t utter a word.  Instead she rushes up and greets him with a tight embrace.  Bowden chuckles lightly under his breath.

“I’ll take that as a yes.”

After a few more moments of hugging Helen breaks the embrace and then, in a move that is shocking to Matthew, she rears back and slaps him across his face.  He rubs his cheek, which now stings in pain, as she glares at him angrily with tears beginning to form in her eyes.

“Don’t you dare scare me like that again!”

Matthew stares at her as he rubs his cheek, trying to ease the stinging pain.  He frowns and shrugs his shoulders.

“Ok, now I’m confused, are you happy to see me or not?”

“Of course I’m happy to see you.” Helen walks over to the bed and lies back down on it. “But I’m NOT happy that you stayed out so late.”

Matthew shrugs his shoulders again. “It’s two in the morning.  So?”

“Yeah, that’s the point, Matty.” She holds up two fingers. “It’s two in the freaking morning!”

“Ummm, yeah, and that’s why I’m confused.  I’ve been out that late before and you never once seemed to care.”

Helen folds her arms over her chest. “This is different.”

Matthew smirks as he walks over to the bed and hops up onto it, sliding next to Helen.  He tries to look into her eyes but she turns her head away from him.  Bowden leans back and frowns.

“Ok, fine, I’ll humor you.  Tell me what’s different?”

“IWC is what’s different.”

“My career?”

Matthew blinks a few times, as he is honestly shocked by this answer.  He laughs a few times lightly before finally speaking out.

“What is it about IWC that makes this any different?”

“I may not be a wrestling expert, Matt, but I am smart enough to do my research and I have noticed a disturbing trend.”

“Like what?”  He asks.

Helen turns to face him. “Unlike other companies you’ve wrestled for, where your business stays in the ring, IWC business seems to follow people home into their private lives.”

Again Bowden chuckles. “Yeah, that’s what I find so bloody great about it!”

“No, it’s NOT great!” Helen shakes her head vehemently. “It isn’t great because your business on Riot consists of New Eden!  You have to deal with Cindy Todd and Serenity!”

“I’m not dealing with them alone.  I got that Ricky Holt dude.”

“That doesn’t matter!” She shakes her head. “I have seen what New Eden does and, damn it Matty, I do not want that kind of violent crap following you home.”

Matthew Bowden is known for being a wild and crazy guy, the kind of guy who just wants to have fun and doesn’t take anything or anyone seriously.  But seeing his girl in this temperament, in this emotional state, is enough to sober him up.  The normally crazy Bowden nods his head and sighs deeply, speaking in a grave voice.

“Ok, ok, I get it, you’re worried.  You’re nervous.”

He runs a hand through her long auburn hair. “But you have to trust me, babe.  I know what I’m doing out there.  My parents didn’t raise an idiot.”

He taps his head with his index finger. “I always have a plan, even for the Addams Family.”

Helen frowns. “Addams Family?”

“Oh nothing!” Matthew says, feigning innocence.

“Look, Matty,” Helen begins “you may have to wrestle this match because you were booked in it, but don’t do anything stupid.”

“Hey, it’s me!”

“That’s what I’m afraid of.”

==========
On Camera
==========

We open in what appears to be a large, old, beaten up and battered house that, to even the most scientific mind, would have to be haunted.  The camera slowly begins to move its way to the front door and then to the inside of this large house and finally to the living room area that looks just as old, battered, and dead as the outside.  It is then that the melodic tones and singing voices are heard, seemingly from out of nowhere…

…but we know that they’re really coming from loudspeakers positioned in the appropriate places.

“They’re creepy and they’re kooky,”
“Mysterious and spooky,”
“They’re altogether ooky,”
“The Addams Family!”

Matthew Bowden steps into the scene from stage right.  But he looks rather strange.  Then again, any man would look strange dressed as a woman.  Bowden is wearing a long flowing black dress that resembles a death shroud more than anything else.  His face is painted white and he has a black wig on his head with hair extensions that go to about mid-back.  He steps to the center of the room and snaps his fingers twice.

“You know, I racked my brain days on end trying to think of a good way to top the last promo I did.  Granted, it’s going to be hard to top live sex, but I will do my best.  One disadvantage I have in my attempt to top my last promo is that my beautiful lady Helen is not with me this time.  She wants to stay out of this one and I respect that.  So you’ll have to deal with just me.”

He winks at the camera. “There’s plenty of The Show Stealer to go around, ladies, but I’ll save a special viewing for Cindy Todd and her pet hamster Serenity.”

“Anyway, I thought long and hard about what I could do, and knowing I was going to stand side by side with Ricky Holt to face New Eden made me think of other violent psychopaths that they could sympathize with.  Jason Voorhees, Michael Myers, Freddy Kruger, all sociopathic killers who did not give a damn about human life, and thus they all reminded me of the New Eden ladies.  And is that not the way many in IWC treat them?  Fair or unfair, they are looked at almost as a real life horror film, only they are all too real.”

“But then I got to thinking, while that may be good for most people, I am NOT most people.  I am The Show Stealer.  I fear nothing.  I fear nobody.  I look fear in its eye and then spit in its face…that or I do the Macarena with it, one or the other.”

Out of nowhere the familiar tune to the Macarena plays over those hidden loudspeakers.  Bowden proceeds to do the Macarena dance once, twice, and even three times before the music finally comes to an end.  He turns and looks back into the camera, smirking.

“What do you say, ladies?  After our match is over, we can go out for dancing, no hard feelings right?  As evil as you claim to be, I bet even you Cindy can cut a rug when you want to.” Again the smug Show Stealer winks at the camera.

“As I continued to think about what New Eden meant to me, I came to realize that I had been in this situation before.  No, not this specific one where I am teaming with a guy named Ricky to fight a lady with no eyeballs and her pet hamster, but a scenario very similar where I am facing an opponent that everyone is seemingly intimidated by and thus I am supposed to be intimidated as well.”

He shakes his head. “Not me, not The Show Stealer.  No matter who it is, no matter what the odds are, even if it is painfully clear I cannot win, whenever I am up against an opponent that intimidating, I just view that opponent as Addams Family.”

“What is the Addams Family?  It is a parody of horror and fear.  It is a parody of monster movies.  Now don’t get me wrong, I recognize New Eden’s talent, but Cindy, you need to understand that there is absolutely nothing you or Serenity can do to strike fear into my heart.  I’m not walking away from this.  I’m coming right at you, head on.”

He holds up one finger. “There’s one other thing you ladies need to know about me that makes me different, very different from quite possibly any other opponent you’ve faced.”

“My motivation is not victory.  I have said it time and time again, I really don’t care about winning and losing.  Clearly I’m not here to escape New Eden’s wrath, because as I said earlier, I don’t fear you and I am coming at you no matter what.  And unlike certain individuals such as fuck fuckity fucking fuck Riddick, I am not motivated by simply hurting people either.”

“My motivation is to be The Show Stealer.  My motivation is to make damn sure my name is the name on everyone’s lips when all is said and done.  I am willing to go to great lengths to accomplish that goal and, lucky for you girls, you will get to witness first hand just who crazy, just how much of an extreme maniac I can be inside that ring in order to make each and every person in that arena remember me.”

He points a finger at the camera. “Especially you two.  By the end of the night, New Eden will remember me.  I promise you that.”

And just then, without any warning, those hidden loudspeakers begin to play the familiar Addams Family theme music once again.  This time, instead of the melodic voice of our singers, we hear Matthew Bowden singing…

“So get a witch’s shawl on,”
“A broomstick you can crawl on,”
“We’re gonna pay a call on,”
“The Addams Family!”

Bowden snaps his fingers twice and then the camera fades to black.

Hidden Cameras

“The Show Stealer” Matthew Bowden made his IWC debut at the End of the Year Special in a triple threat match against Alistair Taylor and Aaron Harrison.  To the surprise of many, Bowden picked up the victory.  It came as to no surprise to Bowden.  No, Bowden didn’t expect to win or anything like that, but truthfully Bowden never really cared about winning in the first place.  Matthew Bowden’s number priority is, and always has been, to be the biggest star in professional wrestling by being the most entertaining athlete in whatever company he happens to wrestle for.  If Bowden happens to pick up a victory in the process, that’s just extra.  Entertainment is Bowden’s goal.

Bowden’s next challenge will be against none other than Lexy Chapel of Wicked Intent fame.  Many would be concerned with the thread this potential challenge would pose, but Matthew looks at this from an entirely different perspective.  He looks at this as yet another opportunity to have fun and to entertain the fans, showing that he is the real Show Stealer in IWC, regardless of winning, losing, or drawing.

“Are we ready?”

That’s the voice of Matthew Bowden, standing outside of his bedroom door, wearing just a pair of red boxer shorts.  He is snickering with a knowing grin on his face. He turns to a camera, hidden from view in the hallway.

“My lady, Helen Martin,”

Bowden uses the thumb on his right hand to point towards the bedroom door as he speaks in a hushed whisper.

“is inside the bedroom.  What she doesn’t realize is that there is also a hidden camera inside the bedroom.  I told everyone that my next promo would be shot from the bedroom and damnit I meant it.”

“Yeah, I’m ready babe.”

Helen’s voice is heard from within the bedroom.  Bowden motions with his head towards the door.

“Ok, the time is now.  Let’s see if I can pull this off.”

Matthew Bowden turns the doorknob and opens the door.  He steps inside the bedroom.  He walks up to the king-sized bed where he finds his girlfriend, Helen Martin, lying there in skimpy black lace lingerie that leaves little to the imagination; just how Bowden likes it.  Bowden holds his arms out open, ready to accept her embrace.

“Helen!”

“Matthew!”

Helen hops up off of the bed.  She makes her way over to her boyfriend and the two embrace in a tight hug before sharing in a warm, passionate kiss.  After breaking the kiss Helen motions to the bed and grins knowingly.

“Shall we?”

“I don’t see why not.”

Bowden remarks.  Helen takes him by the hand and leads him towards the bed.  Matthew quickly shoots the hidden camera a quick glance and a wink before following Helen.  Helen jumps back into bed first, followed by Matthew Bowden.  The two get underneath the thick comforter and then engage in some passionate kissing for several long moments before, eventually, Bowden breaks the kissing.  Helen looks at him curiously, not sure why he would stop kissing, still unaware of what Bowden is doing with a hidden camera.

“What’s wrong, babe?”

“I’m sorry, Helen.  I guess I’m kind of distracted.”

Helen frowns. “Distracted?  How so?”

“Well here I am, new to IWC, new to Riot, and I have only won one match.”

Bowden holds up one finger.

“One…damn…match.  And somehow I’m supposed to believe that I am worthy of facing the reigning Evolution Champion, even if it is non-title?”

“I wouldn’t complain, Matty.” Helen responds. “It’s Lexy Chapel.  It’s non-title.  Just go out there and do your thing.”

“Oh I will.”

Bowden chuckles lightly as he resumes kissing his girlfriend.

“I am The Show Stealer, after all, and Lexy Chapel has no idea what she’s in for.  As good as she is, as deceptive as she can be, I am better, I am more deceptive, and quite frankly anything she’s willing to do, I am willing to do all of that and then some to prove that I am The Show Stealer of IWC.  Bar none.”

The kissing resumes and goes on for longer and longer until Helen breaks the kissing.  She glares at Bowden, studying him intensely.

“What’s wrong?” Bowden asks.

“I think you know what’s wrong.” Helen states definitively. “For as long as I have known you, you have never once cared about winning any match.  The two times you received world title opportunities, you never gave a damn about them.”

“Yeah?”

“So, what makes this match against Lexy Chapel any different?” Helen pokes a finger onto Bowden’s chest. “You certainly sound like you care about this match and getting this win for some reason.”

Bowden smiles sheepishly as he begins to realize that Helen is catching onto him.

“Um, I dunno, because, Lexy is, um…hot?”

Helen shoves Bowden.

“Liar!”

“You don’t know I’m lying!” Bowden insists. “I could want to win because she’s hot.”

“You could but you don’t.” Helen counters. “I know you, Matthew, and I know that there is nothing on this earth that would make you give a damn about victories, winning, and losing.  That’s just not you.”

“Well I clearly said that I want to beat Lexy Chapel!” Bowden states. “So how do you explain that?”

“I…um…”

Helen looks around the room and then into the mischievous eyes of Matthew Bowden.  Just then a look of realization washes across her face as she slowly figures how what is going on.

“Oh my God!”

Helen covers her mouth with her right hand.

“You didn’t…”

“Didn’t do what?”

Matthew asks, still feigning innocence but trying to hold back his own laughter.

“You threatened to shoot your next promo live while you and I were in bed but I didn’t think you actually would!”

Helen covers herself completely by the comforter in an attempt to hide herself from the camera, wherever it may be.  Bowden just laughs as he gently and slowly gets up out of bed and turns to face the hidden camera.

“Lexy…Lexy…Lexy…”

Bowden shakes his head.

“…there are a few things you need to know about me, hot stuff.  First and foremost, my lady there, Helen Martin, she is absolutely right about me.  I could give a damn less about winning and losing.  That’s not why I’m in this business.  I am in it to entertain and to make money in the process.  And that leads into the second thing you really should know about me and that’s that because I don’t care about winning and losing, there is nothing I will not do inside that squared circle.”

Bowden chuckles lightly. “People talk of pushing the envelope, well hell girl, I won’t just push the envelope, I will throw the damn thing off the cliff!”

He holds up three fingers. “Now, the third and final thing you need to know about me is real simple.  I am Matthew Bowden and after this display of my ‘great’ promo shooting skills, it should be painfully obvious that I don’t give a damn about tradition or any of that bullshit.  What I do care about is being The Show Stealer of the Independent Wrestling Cartel and whether I win, lose, or draw on Riot is irrelevant, because at the end of the day everyone will still remember me and my name for the incredible athleticism and thrills and chills I give the fans than for any boring doldrums you throw their way.”

He winks at the camera. “See you around, toots.”
